2018 - Junior Golf Clinics Session 1

 

With our ever popular Junior Golf Camp entering its 24th year we have established ourselves as the leaders of Junior Golf Development in the area. Which is exactly why we make it a priority to focus on the fostering the future of golf and focusing on our local junior golfers

In the Spring of 2017 we began participating in the Golf in Schools Program by sponsoring 1 local elementary school which provided us the opportunity to visit the school and introduce to grades 1-5 how fun golf really can be! We are currently in the process of sponsoring an additional 2 more local schools so that we help show kids who may not ever get to try golf, something different that they can do that is both fun and educational!

NEW FOR 2018 – At Brooklea we understand that golf can seem pretty intimidating and difficult to your new junior golfer. With that in mind our expertly trained Golf Instructors will make sure your junior learns in a fun and casual atmosphere. Our Instructors are expert communicators and have all been working with kids for many years. Each Session will include: Learning Time, Practice Time and On Course Play time and will progress and build on the previous weeks teachings to guide your junior golfer on the path to fun and excellence!

How does the Future Links, driven by Acura Learn to Play Program work?

The Future Links, driven by Acura Learn to Play program is a framework to develop junior players through four colour stages (Think Karate belt colours) that align with the Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) Guide for golf. This program is designed to introduce players to age / stage appropriate content through an identified set of core modules that are applicable to each stage of the program. Within each core module is a series of recommended program requirements and areas for the participants to cover as they pass through each stage of the program.

In order to progress through each stage of the program, the participants will need to demonstrate that they have reached certain benchmarks that have been established. Participation is the focus of the benchmarks in the earlier stages of the program (e.g. stages White and Orange). As golfers progress through to the more advanced levels of the program (e.g. stages Blue and Black), the benchmarks become more qualitative and quantitative in nature.

Each weekly session of the program will be 45 minutes in length. Stage 1 the White stage, stage 2 is Orange, stage 3 is Blue and 4 is Black. Following completion of each stage, participants will receive an official Puma Hat that corresponds with the stage color completed
